About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Ajoksen kalasatama is a fishing harbour on the island of Ajos south of Kemi, at the end of Verkkokarintie road. It is one of the region's most significant fishing harbours in terms of catch volumes, and the harbour benefits from good road access. Next to the original fishing harbour there is a newer harbour basin used by pleasure boaters and subsistence fishermen.
The channel leading into the harbour has a depth of 2.4 metres, while the harbour basin itself has a depth of 2 metres.
The harbour area is paved and generally in good condition. Occasional direct sales of fresh fish take place at the harbour.
Ajos is a peaceful, nature-close residential area with a beautiful beach, long sandy shores and a disc golf course, and it is only 8 km to central Kemi. Drop by and experience the genuine atmosphere of one of the Bothnian Bay's most productive fishing harbours.
