About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Alaminos Harbour is a small marina/fishing shelter by the village of Alaminos in the Larnaca district, built on the Latouros coastline near the Aldiana Hotel. The original harbour was constructed in 1998 with four parallel breakwaters and berthing for around 150 boats, with a dock, a pier and a fifth breakwater added later.
Over the years the harbour has suffered from lack of maintenance, and the basin is today partly silted up and out of operation. A technical environmental study has been published for a project to restore and upgrade the old yacht shelter, including dredging large amounts of accumulated sand and algae and repairing the damaged structures.
The harbour sits close to Alaminos beach between Larnaca and Kiti, an area described as a relatively hidden and peaceful spot, with a footpath continuing to the tourist area at Aldiana Zypern.
