About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Alter Hafen is a club-run marina in the historic, Dutch-style town of Friedrichstadt in Schleswig-Holstein, situated directly on the river Treene in the town's old core. The marina is run by the Motorbootclub Westküste (MCW) Friedrichstadt, and the town itself is an old, Dutch-style built and well-preserved town.
The marina – known as the "Alten Hafen" – can only be reached by first passing through the town's lock, after which a small side canal leads to the pontoons. There are around 25-30 guest berths for boats up to 14 metres in length, and the berthing fee is 1 euro per metre per night.
The berths have electricity and water connections, and the marina is a centrally located harbour with well-kept sanitary facilities. For the shower, visitors need a token, which is issued by the harbourmaster for a small fee.
The historic town centre, with its charming lanes, cafés and restaurants, is only a few minutes' walk from the marina, and the railway station on the Hamburg-Sylt line is about a 10-minute walk away. Berth at Alter Hafen and explore Friedrichstadt's distinctive Dutch-style old town on foot.
