About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Kleiner Hafen "Am Spreeschlösschen" is a small harbour in the historic old town of Lübbenau in the Spreewald, Brandenburg. It is run by the Kahnfährmannsverein der Spreewaldfreunde e.V. and serves as the starting point for the traditional Spreewald punt tours (Kahnfahrten) on flat-bottomed "Tischkähne", hand-poled by ferrymen in green vests and carrying up to 20 passengers.
From spring until October the harbour is staffed from mid-morning, and the classic tours last between 1.5 and 6 hours. On tours of 3 hours or more the punts pass through the characteristic Spreewald locks, with breaks included along the way. Individual visitors can turn up without booking and join one of the classic tours, while groups of 10 or more are asked to book ahead. During the winter season, from November to March, special winter tours are offered.
Right at the harbour you'll find a biergarten/restaurant by the water, serving traditional Spreewald dishes as well as coffee and drinks while you wait for your tour. There is also a traditional pickled-cucumber stand offering various regional products from Lübbenau and the surrounding area.
The harbour is centrally located in the historic old town, just a short walk from the Spreeschlösschen building, the Spreewald Museum and St Nikolai church. Stop by Kleiner Hafen and let yourself be poled through the fairy-tale landscape of the Spreewald on a traditional Tischkahn.
