Apooiti

Marina Apooiti is a public marina in the Raiatea-Taha'a lagoon in French Polynesia, just one kilometre from Raiatea's airport. The marina has existed since 1975 and is run by a business association aiming to ensure safety and comfort for visiting sailors. It serves as the island's main nautical base and hosts several major yacht charter companies.

You can enter through several passes in the reef: the Miri-Miri pass from the west, the Teavapiti pass from the east, and the Paipai pass from Taha'a in the north. The marina monitors VHF channel 12. It is a public marina with about 80 berths for boats between 13 and 55 feet, and there is also a visitors' wharf for guest yachts.

At the docks you'll find water and electricity along with access to sanitary facilities and showers. The marina handles waste collection and selective sorting, and there are 80 parking spaces for marina users as well as access to a dinghy dock. You can refuel at the dock, use laundry facilities, and paid wifi is available (first hour free). The area also has a restaurant, a bar, a sailmaker, and a chandlery shop, as well as a slipway for launching.

From here it's a short trip to the town of Uturoa with its shops, market, hospital and several restaurants, and you can head up to the viewpoint on Mount Tapioi.
