About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026WV Neusen is an association with several harbour locations in and around Terneuzen on the Westerschelde in the Netherlands. Buitenhaven has 87 permanent berths, while the association also has around 40 berths in Binnen- and Centrumhaven close to the town centre, plus a further approximately 40 berths in side canal A, which also has space for 35 boats ashore for maintenance.
The entrance to Veerhaven, where Buitenhaven is located, has a depth at average low water of 3.40-3.90 metres. The entrance is narrow with strong currents on both flood and ebb tides, so boats without a powerful auxiliary engine should take care, especially on the ebb. The eastern breakwater must be rounded at a good distance due to rock armouring extending up to 20 metres from the dam. Mooring and anchoring in Veerhaven is only permitted within the marinas. After mooring, you should always report to the harbourmaster; berths marked with a green sign are generally free.
Buitenhaven offers toilets, showers, washbasins and shore power. At side canal A there is also a mast crane along with toilets and showers.
The harbours are close to Terneuzen town centre, with a shopping centre and supermarkets within short reach. From the harbour you can pass through locks onto the Westerschelde and continue to Ghent, Antwerp, Veerse Meer and Oosterschelde within a day.
