About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026On the banks of the Saône river, southeast of Mâcon in the Ain department, lies the Base de Loisirs de Cormoranche – a leisure site built around a 24-hectare lake that forms part of a larger 42-hectare natural area between the Bresse, Beaujolais and Burgundy regions. A sailing base (base de voile) here lets you take up sailing, canoeing and kayaking on the enclosed lake water.
The site offers free parking at the entrance, playgrounds for the youngest visitors, and barbecue spots in shaded picnic areas by the water. Bicycles can be rented at reception, and there is a public bike-repair station, making it easy to continue your journey under your own steam.
The base sits right on the Voie Bleue V50 cycling route, which follows the Saône all the way from Luxembourg down to Lyon, making it a natural stop for cycle tourers. Right next door is a sandy beach with a supervised swimming area separated from the rest of the lake, plus an adjoining campsite with cottages and mobile homes. Come and experience the green, water-rich surroundings of Lac Cormoranche.
