About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 27 September 2026

Bassin de la Tour Rouge is a basin for pleasure boats within Port de Nice (Port Lympia) on the French Riviera. The basin was created by extending the "épi de la poudrière" breakwater off La Réserve specifically to make room for pleasure craft, and its basic layout has changed relatively little since then.

At the entrance from the sea into Port de Nice's basins stands a municipal water-sports centre (base nautique), its façade facing out to sea and the Bay of Nice. The area is also home to Club Nautique de Nice, a rowing club, and a fire and rescue station that since 2000 has provided round-the-clock, year-round sea-rescue standby cover.
