About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Bassin du Midi is one of the basins within Port de Sète, a combined commercial, fishing and pleasure harbour on the northern side of the Golfe du Lion. The commercial and fishing port is located north of the Golfe du Lion and connects to the Étang de Thau, Canal du Midi and Canal du Rhône. The harbour is run by the public port authority Port Sud de France, and Bassin du Midi itself offers around 176 berths for vessels up to 50 metres.
Entry should normally be made via the western channel; it is compulsory to enter via passe W, except in winds from the SE/S/E sector, when the harbour office can be contacted on VHF 12 to use passe E instead. On arrival, contact the harbour office on VHF 9, after which you will be directed to your berth. Depths are 5.8 m in passe W, 12 m in passe E and 4 m in the basins, with mooring typically on catways.
On the pontoons you'll find toilets and showers, including 6 toilets, 10 showers and a disabled-accessible sanitary block with 2 showers and 2 toilets. Fresh water and electricity are available at the quay and pontoon (220V), along with ice for sale, and diesel and petrol are available at Môle Saint-Louis.
