About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Bassin Frédéric Sauvage is one of the three basins that make up the Port de plaisance de Boulogne-sur-Mer on France's Côte d'Opale, and it is reserved for motor boats. The basin has 202 berths, and the whole marina is secured and enclosed by gates.
Entry to the basin is through a lock, which can be passed 3 hours before and after high tide during office opening hours; requests are made on VHF channel 9. Opening hours vary through the year: from October to March Monday-Saturday 9am-12:30pm and 2pm-6pm, while in July-August the office is open 7am-9pm.
Berths have access to fresh water and shore power, and the basin has its own waste reception as well as a pump-out station for holding and chemical toilet tanks. There are toilets and showers, plus a small laundry with two washing machines and two dryers for boaters. A badge-access car park is available for both permanent subscribers and visitors.
The marina lies close to Boulogne's town centre and the fortified old town, and a Club House with nearby bakeries, supermarkets and restaurants is less than five minutes' walk from the berths. With the town on your doorstep and a sheltered spot behind the lock, Bassin Frédéric Sauvage is a convenient place to stay while exploring Boulogne-sur-Mer and the Côte d'Opale.
