About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Bootsverein Wiesens is located between Wilhelmshaven and Aurich, above the historic lock built in 1884, directly on the Ems-Jade Canal. Founded in 1972, the club has around 25 berths for boats and yachts up to 15 metres along finger and side-on pontoons.
The harbour area is lit and locked, and the marina has a slipway, with the key available from the lock keeper during operating hours. Guest sailors are welcome, and as many local skippers head out to the East Frisian coast during the season, there are often free berths for short-term visitors.
The clubhouse, the barbecue area and the pontoons all feature modern infrastructure with sanitary facilities.
Shops can be found in nearby Wiesens, easily reached on foot or by bike. The marina sits idyllically by the canal lock, on the edge of a landscape and nature protection area, away from road traffic. Tie up at a free berth and take the short walk into Wiesens to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere by the lock.
