About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Bootsservice P. Groß is a boat rental business at the Kriebstein reservoir near Mittweida, run as a family business since 1999. The company was originally supported by the then-independent municipality of Lauenhain and the Zweckverband Kriebsteintalsperre.
The business is open seasonally, Monday to Friday 11am-6pm and Saturday-Sunday 10am-7pm. There is step-free access from the car park to the jetty and boats, though only one wheelchair can be taken per trip (electric wheelchairs cannot be accommodated).
Here you can rent unsinkable rowing boats for four to five people, also available with an electric outboard motor, pedal boats for two or four people, and a catamaran that can also be used by wheelchair users. Life jackets are provided free of charge for the entire rental period, and the company is a service and trading partner for Torqeedo.
The Kriebstein reservoir is surrounded by mixed forest and floodplains and offers great conditions for water sports. Set out to explore the nine-kilometre-long lake in one of the friendly rowing boats or pedal boats from Bootsservice P. Groß.
