About the harbour
Bootswerft Freest lies in Freest, a small fishing village near Greifswald on the Vorpomeranian Baltic coast and originated from the historic Jarling boatyard in 1889. The marina comprises about 30 summer berths with stern buoys, some occupied by permanent residents, but guest berths are always available – note the green flag/card at the pontoon corresponding to each berth box. Large and small boat sheds together with slipways, marina and winter storage remain intact, and the charter fleet was expanded with small classic wooden boats for hire on the Bodden, Achterwasser and lagoon. A functional building with sanitary facilities is part of the project. Adjacent there are restaurants offering fish, ice cream, coffee and cake.
