About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Bygland brygge is the old stone pier at Prestneset in Bygland church district, on the eastern shore of the lake Byglandsfjorden in Setesdal, Agder. The pier is said to have been built in 1912, and it is here that the steamboat Bjoren docks when visiting Bygland village.
At the pier itself you'll find the serving place Bjoren Brygge, which is open on weekends in June, daily throughout July, and again on weekends in August.
Within short walking distance of the pier lie Bygland museum and the Tangen recreational area, as well as the culture café Stoga. Bygland Church is located about 320 metres north of the pier. Tie up at this historic pier and enjoy the atmosphere around the steamboat Bjoren and the cosy serving places right by the water's edge.
