About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Camping Tjeukemeer sits on the northern shore of the large Frisian lake Tjeukemeer, the biggest inland lake in Friesland. The site has existed since 1965 and is a quietly situated family campsite with permanent and seasonal pitches, which also offers its own harbour berths for boats. Right next to the campsite is the pavilion, where you can enjoy a light meal and a drink while taking in the view over the lake, the beach and the harbour from its spacious terrace.
The campsite provides sanitary facilities for motorhomes, including a chemical toilet disposal point, as well as a toilet building with showers and toilets. There is also a lockable laundry room with a washing machine and dryer. In the middle of the site there is a large playground, making it a great choice for families with children.
Just fifty metres from the campsite you'll find a small bathing beach that the management keeps clean itself — successfully so, as the beach has twice won the Golden Pennant as the cleanest small freshwater beach in the Netherlands. The area around Tjeukemeer also offers good opportunities for cycling and walking tours along the lake.
