About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Porto di Catanzaro Lido is located in the Casciolino area at the end of the promenade in Catanzaro Lido, the maritime district of the Calabrian regional capital Catanzaro. It is a small marina, still partly under expansion works, that hosts both pleasure craft and the local fishing fleet, and which has been undergoing renovation over the years with a view to becoming a modern marina.
The harbour monitors VHF channel 16. The entrance only allows transiting yachts with a maximum draught of 2 metres, and prior application and permission are required. Boats up to 20 metres in length can be moored at the quays. There is no fixed fuel station at the quays, but organised refuelling by tanker truck can be arranged.
Sailors should be aware that the harbour lacks proper markings, and that on first arrival care must be taken regarding protruding tetrapods at the entrance as well as shallow water, shoals and rocks.
From the harbour it is a short walk to Catanzaro Lido's promenade, over four kilometres long, lined with numerous restaurants, bars and cafés, as well as the iconic mosaic-paved walkway created by Atelier Mendini, which has entered the Guinness World Records as the longest mosaic in the world. The nearby Blue Flag beach and the pine forest at Giovino are also within walking distance. Moor at Catanzaro Lido and discover both its maritime heritage and the sunny Ionian coastal town.
