About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Marina Chiavari is the municipally-owned tourist port of the town of Chiavari on the Tigullio Gulf in Liguria, just a few nautical miles from Portofino and the Cinque Terre. The marina sits in the heart of town and is easy to reach, being only 50 metres from the railway station.
Call the marina's mooring staff on VHF channel 10 to announce your arrival and be assigned a berth; assistance is available around the clock. The access canal has a depth of about 2.5 metres at its entrance. The transit quay can host up to 35 boats, including 12 specially equipped guest berths.
Ashore you'll find toilet facilities and a new fuel station for refuelling your boat. The marina offers free wifi to guests, and there are 63 parking spaces for cars and motorbikes within the harbour area. A distinctive service is a slipway fitted with an electric capstan, available to marina guests and outside boaters alike for launching smaller craft — the only facility of its kind in the Tigullio area.
From the pontoons it's a short walk to Chiavari's historic centre with its streets, squares, shops and restaurants, while the nearly two-kilometre seafront promenade stretches along the coast with views towards the Portofino headland. In summer, excursion boats depart directly from the marina for Portofino, San Fruttuoso, the Cinque Terre and Porto Venere. Berth here and you'll have both lively town life and some of the Riviera's finest coastline within easy reach.
