About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 30 September 2026The small public harbour of Colonno lies close to the state road SS340 and sits in a central position relative to the village, which stretches lengthwise along the western shore of Lake Como, roughly halfway between Isola Comacina and Argegno.
The harbour is mainly for local use and does not offer transit berths for visiting yachts. Average depth is about 1.5 metres, with room for around 30 boats at the floating pontoon ("trappa") and a further 3-4 berths at a stepped landing ("gradinata"). Commercial traffic has right of way over pleasure craft, even under sail.
There is no dedicated chandlery at the harbour, but within walking distance you'll find a cash machine, a bar, a grocery shop and a post office, along with car parking near the landing area.
Colonno is the starting point of the Greenway del Lago di Como, the popular walking trail along the lake's western shore, and the old village centre has narrow lanes that suddenly open onto the lake. The parish church of San Michele Arcangelo stands on the village's only lakeside square. The nearest neighbouring villages are Sala Comacina to the north and Argegno to the south. Head to Colonno for a quiet start to one of the lake's most scenic waterside walks.
