About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 30 September 2026Corenno Plinio is a small medieval hamlet within the municipality of Dervio, situated on the eastern shore of Lake Como, set on a rocky promontory between the lake and the mountains at the foot of Monte Legnoncino. At the bottom of the village, at the end of the characteristic stone stairways, lies a small old harbour whose oldest part is carved directly into the rock – a testament to the village's close relationship with the water. Working boats and cargo vessels once docked here, while today it is a quiet corner with a handful of leisure boats bobbing by the small darsena, almost like a private little harbour. From the quay, the stairs lead up past the medieval castle and the church of Saint Thomas Becket of Canterbury to a viewpoint, where you can enjoy the view of the opposite shore and the mountains of Valvarrone. Thanks to its west-facing position, the spot is especially known for its sunsets seen from the old dock.
