About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 30 September 2026

De Buitenhaven is run by the Watersportvereniging d'Alblasserwaerdt and lies centrally on the Dam in Alblasserdam, with direct access to the Rivier de Noord and onward to the Biesbosch. The marina has 40 spacious berths and is one of the association's four harbours in the town.

Visiting sailors are welcome, and it's recommended to call the harbourmaster in advance to arrange a guest berth. For the approach itself, call the bridge operator about 10 minutes before arrival; you then continue straight ahead towards Landvast, where the harbour office is on the left. The bridge operates in summer from 08:00-20:00 (1-27 April) and 08:00-22:00 (28 April-30 September), and in winter from 09:00-17:00 (1 October-31 March).

At the berths you'll find shore power, fresh water, showers and toilets, and the marina has facilities for disposing of waste water. Bicycle rental is also available nearby. Note that there is no fuel station within the marina itself.

Just a short walk from the marina you'll find shops, cafés and restaurants, along with pleasant walking and cycling routes through town. The Landvast cultural centre with its cinema and music evenings is close by, and fuel and boat supplies can be found at Jan Korteland across the Dam. Tie up on the calm waters of the Dam and explore Alblasserdam on foot or by bike.
