About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 30 September 2026East Ferry Marina lies deep within Cork Harbour on the eastern side of Great Island, in a tranquil, wooded setting a short distance from the busy town of Cobh. The marina has around 80 berths and sits sheltered within a river inlet, offering protection from most conditions.
The approach runs via the Lower Harbour and through the East Channel. All-tide access is available with a minimum approach depth of around 3 metres at low water springs. Note that VHF reception can be unreliable here, as the surrounding hills tend to block the signal, and berthing is arranged directly with the marina's manager on arrival. Besides the modern pontoons, there is also an old stone pier, plus a slipway for launching dinghies and small powerboats.
Water, electricity, diesel and refuse facilities are available on the pontoons, and the marina has showers and toilets, along with ample parking ashore.
Right next door to the marina lie the beautiful Marlogue Woods, open to the public and perfect for a shoreside stroll. The SailCork sailing school is based here, and the historic town of Cobh is just a short taxi ride or around 3 miles away. Pick up a berth in this secluded corner of Cork Harbour and enjoy its peaceful, off-the-beaten-track charm.
