About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Fredensborg Havn is one of the municipality's smaller harbours, situated on Lake Esrum. Here you'll find peace and quiet while taking in the lake's ever-changing colours and moods. The harbour was established in 1973 through cooperation between the municipality, the Danish Nature Agency (Naturstyrelsen) and the local sailing clubs, and today it is owned by Naturstyrelsen.
At the harbour there are public toilets in the sailing club's house across the road from the municipal bathing pier; the toilets can also be used for changing. During summer, a 1,000-metre Open Water swimming lane runs from the bathing pier at Fredensborg Havn northwards along the shore, past Skipperhuset, ending north of Kongebroen in Fredensborg Slotspark.
The harbour lies very close to the entrance of Fredensborg Slotspark and Sørup Is- og Kaffestue, a popular summer destination.
Berth at Fredensborg Havn and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere by Lake Esrum, just a stone's throw from the palace park.
