About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Halmstad's guest harbour lies right in the heart of the city, on the Nissan River, and has been run by the boat club BK Najaden since 1985. Here you moor sheltered from all wind directions, close to everything the town has to offer.
The approach to Halmstad follows a well-marked channel with a depth of 11 metres, also used by commercial shipping; the long pier at the outer harbour carries a lighthouse, and the 73-metre-high silo is a clear daytime landmark. Berths are on green-marked spots between mooring poles or along the quay, and the harbour can accommodate guest boats/vessels up to 100 metres. During summer a harbour host is present in the morning and afternoon, and the harbour is guarded at night.
In the clubhouse you'll find toilets, showers and laundry facilities, plus a small café run by the Seamen's Church. There is also a shared lounge with TV, and on weekends the grill comes out on the terrace for a pleasant evening. The harbour also offers shore power (included up to 12 metres), fresh water, fuel, and access to a nearby restaurant.
It's within walking distance of Halmstad's sights, including the castle, the town hall, Galgberget, and Picasso's sculpture "Kvinnohuvud" (Woman's Head). Close by you'll also find grocery stores, a pharmacy, Systembolaget, restaurants, shops, a health centre, tourist office, and library — with easy walking access to both the bus and train station.
