About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Gaupne Båtforening - Hotla is a club-run marina on Gaupnefjorden, an arm of the Lustrafjorden, close to the village of Gaupne in Luster Municipality, Vestland. The club was founded in 1995 as Gaupne Båtforening, and a wooden jetty from the former Hotla Båtlag was later incorporated together with its equipment and members. The marina consists of two facilities: the oldest one at Tvingeborgneset from 1997, with a concrete jetty and 27 berths in total, and a newer facility at Gaupnegrandane built in 2008, when the need for more berths was great - it was built using second-hand steel modules from a former fish farm, with the harbour constructed through volunteer work.
Visiting boats can moor alongside a floating jetty in the harbour. Be aware that about 200 metres away there is an unseen outlet from a hydropower plant, which operates at irregular times and can cause local turbulence and currents while moored. An information board is set up in the harbour area.
Within a short walk of about 1 km along a path by the river, you'll find a shopping centre, the Lustrabadet swimming facility, and a large playground, making this a good stop for the whole family.
