About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Gyldenløve Brygge is a guest harbour on Strømsø in Drammen, run by the Gyldenløve Skuteforening (boat association). The association was founded in 1976 by a group of people with large boats who lacked berths in Drammen. The pier stretches 174 metres along the river between Strømsøbroen and Motorveibroen, and was built in 1979 on municipal land in an area characterised by old boathouse-style buildings.
Be aware of the restricted clearance height at the entrance: the motorway bridge does not allow vessels over 11.5 metres on the Holmen side, while there is 10.5 metres clearance on the Strømsø side. In the harbour you can moor alongside a quay or floating dock, or against land or bare rock.
Within walking distance you'll find Cappelens Store Sjøbod, a protected building whose oldest parts date back to 1696. It is home to Gyldenløve Kajakklubb, founded in 2009 and affiliated with DNT Drammen og Omegn. The area sits centrally on Strømsø, close to Drammen's city centre and within short distance of the railway station.
Moor at this historic quay and experience the Strømsø side of Drammen with its old boathouses and maritime atmosphere.
