About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Hafen Olpenitz is a modern marina on the Schlei near Kappeln, built on the site of a former naval base covering more than 150 hectares that is now being developed into a holiday resort. The marina offers year-round berths for sailing and motor boats as well as yachts, and has, among other things, received a mast crane in 2020 and storage halls with a travel lift for winter storage of boats up to 50 metres.
The harbour office is open daily 08:00-10:00 and 17:00-18:00 from April to September, shorter hours in October, and only weekdays 08:00-10:00 in winter; outside these hours the harbourmaster can be reached by phone.
On the pontoon you'll find toilets in the yellow house (separate facilities for women and men plus a disabled-accessible toilet) and showers in the blue house with four showers and a bathtub - access via a key card from the harbour office for 1.95 euros. There is also a laundry centre on the pontoon with a washing machine and dryer, available around the clock. Bike rental is available at the marina, and there is a playground (Kinder-Outdoor-Land) for children.
Walk to the restaurants Ciao Bella (Italian) and Beachclub right by the harbour, and find an Edeka supermarket just around the corner for groceries. Berth in the modern marina and take the short walk to the harbour office to arrange key cards for showers and laundry while enjoying the view over the Schlei.
