About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026

Segelclub Mainspitze e.V. has its marina berths in a quiet side section of the Gustavsburg industrial harbour, with direct access to the Rhine at river kilometre 496, on the right bank opposite Mainz. The sailing area stretches from kilometre 503 at Mainz-Mombach to kilometre 488 at Nackenheim, and a current-free stretch of water between km 494-496 is popular with dinghies in light winds.

Guest sailors are always welcome and can moor at any free berth, after which you call the harbourmaster, who will tell you the berth number and the code combination for the pontoon gate. Electricity and drinking water are available at the berths. The guest fee is €1.00 per metre started, collected by the harbourmaster at an arranged time.

The marina is conveniently located close to Bahnhof Mainz-Gustavsburg station, from where you can take the train one stop to Mainz or onward to Frankfurt. Shops can be found in Gustavsburg via Darmstädter Landstraße, and you can also walk or cycle to Mainz through the railway underpass, across the railway bridge and along the Rhine to the Fort Malakoff Zentrum, Mainz's old town, the market square and the cathedral.

Moor at a free berth in Hafen IV, call the harbourmaster for the code and berth number, then walk the short distance to Bahnhof Mainz-Gustavsburg or onward along the Rhine into Mainz's old town.
