About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026

Halte Fluviale Alfred Leroux is located in Chauny in northern France, on the Canal latéral à l'Oise (PK 0.5), and is run by the ACTAN association. The marina offers 10 berths across 6 catways of 6 metres and 4 catways of 8 metres, plus a 3.2-tonne crane.

Visiting boaters pay per day 14 € for boats of 6-9.5 metres and 18 € for boats of 9.5-14 metres; the price includes free water, showers and electricity (6 amps). The marina is open in season from 1 May to 30 September, seven days a week from 14:00 to 19:00; outside the season contact is by phone only. Car parking costs 3 € per day, and boat storage ashore (up to 8 m, with membership) costs 300 € for 12 months.

On site there is a reception building with toilets, washbasins and showers, plus a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer (5 € per use). Electricity and drinking water are available at the berths, free wifi covers the marina area, and the 3.2-tonne crane can be used for a fee (50 €).

From Chauny, boaters can reach the open sea on the Picardy coast within a week via canals and locks. Since July 2021 the Canal de la Sambre has reopened, allowing onward passage to the port of Jambes in Namur, Belgium, via Etreux, Haumont, Erquelines and Landelies. Moor at one of the 10 catways and enjoy easy access both towards the coast and into Belgium.
