About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Hou Lystbådehavn is a charming marina in the old fishing village of Hou on the Kattegat, north of Hals. The marina has 174 permanent berths on three newly built main pontoons (2023), and guest boats can also moor along the roughly 300 m long quay. The wind harp sculpture on the northern mole is a good landmark, visible from 4 nautical miles out, and there is a leading light on the mole for night sailing. You can expect a depth of 2 metres both in the fairway and at the berths, though the depth at the entrance can be less outside the sailing season at low water. The fairway and outer basin are marked with red and green buoys, and care should be taken with current and wind, especially in strong gales.
The marina offers toilets and showers, a coin-operated laundry, diesel sales, wifi for guest sailors and other paying visitors, plus a sailors' lounge and clubhouse in Havnehuset. There is a newly built playground and two covered barbecue areas, both from 2023, as well as pitches for motorhomes.
Within walking distance you'll find Vaffelhuset, Restaurant Raalingen and Hou Pizzaria og Grill, along with several shops. The town is surrounded by miles of white, family-friendly sandy beaches.
Moor at one of the three main pontoons or along the quay, and stroll the short distance to Havnehuset's sailors' lounge or out to the beach.
