About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Hovås småbåtshamn is a municipal marina managed by the municipal company GREFAB. The marina is located in the inner part of Askimsviken, west of Hovås, south of Gothenburg, and offers 540 berths as well as space for 250 boats in winter storage.
Note that the marina does not have regular guest berths – it is primarily set up for permanent berth holders, and there is a long waiting list for a fixed berth in Hovås-Askim. Access to the area requires a key card, which berth holders can purchase from Grefab.
The marina has a reception station for toilet waste and an environmental station for hazardous waste. There is a mast crane 18 metres high that can lift masts up to 300 kg, with a crane capacity of 10 tonnes. There is also a trailer ramp for launching boats. The Swedish Sea Rescue Society (SSRS) has a station located in the marina as well. Right by the marina there is public parking with a number of spaces.
The marina is close to two swimming spots with kiosk services, and a little further out in Askimsfjorden lie several lovely bathing islands. Enjoy the nearby swimming coves and the sheltered setting while you explore the area around Hovås.
