Jachthaven Bommen Berend

Jachthaven Bommen-Berend is a marina in the beautiful Achterhoek region on the Oude IJssel, just outside the town of Laag Keppel. The marina lies six kilometres up the Oude IJssel after entering through the lock at Doesburg, and the river remains navigable further on to Ulft. There is room for both guest boats and year-round permanent berths, with boats accepted up to about 15 metres in length and 4.50 metres in beam. The guest fee is €1.50 per metre per night, with electricity costing €2 per day. Visitors are advised to call ahead on arrival.

The marina has a toilet and shower building with hot water for 50 cents, water for topping up tanks, shore power at the berths, and wifi. There are large grassy areas, camera surveillance, and an information board, with a good snack bar just around the corner.

Laag Keppel offers restaurants and cafeterias, a watermill, a polder mill and Kasteel Keppel castle, as well as numerous art galleries along Dorpsstraat. Grocery shops can be found in Hummelo (1.5 km) and Wehl (4 km), and the area has an extensive network of walking and cycling routes along the Oude IJssel. Moor at the pretty bridges of Bommen-Berend and stroll the short distance into Laag Keppel for ice cream, food, or a walk along the river.
