About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Jachthaven Antwerpen – Linkeroever lies along the Scheldt and welcomes yachts from every direction of the wind on their way to the Antwerp roadstead, set in a green area beside the city. The marina is reached through a tidal lock, which under normal conditions opens from one hour before to one hour after high water; from 1 April to 31 October it operates 08:00-22:00, in November and March 08:00-18:00, and in winter only by request at least 24 hours in advance. In high water the flood gates are closed for short periods, but a waiting buoy is placed at the entrance, and boats can anchor outside the fairway or wait at the pontoon at Palingplaat. VHF channel 9 is used to contact the harbour master.
Every pontoon has shore power and drinking water. There are toilets in the old lock house, a waste collection point for all types of rubbish, and a fuel berth right by the lock gate. A slipway for trailerable boats can be used by arrangement with the harbour master.
Within a kilometre, on foot or by bike, you'll find shops, banks, supermarkets and, on Thursdays, the local market. Nearby lies Sint Anneke, known locally as 'De Plage', with bars and restaurants. From here you can walk or cycle to Antwerp's city centre through the historic pedestrian tunnel under the Scheldt, or take the free ferry to Het Steen; trams and buses also connect to the other bank.
