About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Jachthaven Waardeiland is a small, family-run marina in the heart of Leiden in the Netherlands, located on Waardeiland opposite the Rijnstaete apartment complex. The marina offers a total of 104 berths and has been run by the Van der Poel family since October 2007.
From the marina you can sail your own boat straight into Leiden's historic city centre, and it's just a 15-minute sail to the large Kagerplassen lake district. The marina offers both seasonal berths (spring through autumn) and annual berths; those interested can join a waiting list for a permanent berth.
Electricity and water are available for boats at the jetty.
It's only a 5-minute walk to Leiden's centre, where you can enjoy the many cafés and terraces along the canals - several of which are even accessible directly by boat. Moor at this cosy marina on Waardeiland and take the five-minute walk into Leiden's charming city centre with its canals and terraces.
