About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Jachthaven Kats, run by Van der Rest Nautic Marina, is a tidal harbour with 140 permanent berths, beautifully situated in the heart of Oosterschelde National Park in the former working harbour of Kats. The marina is recognisable from afar by its two tall gantry cranes, once used to build the Zeeland Bridge, and the wide entrance makes it easy to sail in - sailing boats can even hoist and lower sails sheltered inside the harbour. Every berth has its own side jetty with 10 A shore power.
Visiting sailors are welcome and can either phone the harbour masters or moor at the reporting jetty (see the harbour map) and check in with the harbour master or reception.
The marina offers free wifi and free use of sanitary facilities, a laundry, a small playground next to a barbecue area, and parking right on the harbour grounds. There is a gantry crane able to lift boats up to 40 tonnes, plus a frost-free storage hall of 5,500 m² for winter storage - you decide yourself when the boat goes in and out of the water, with no LIFO system. Free loan bikes are available for guests.
Kats is a small artists' village, pleasant for a stroll, with a small grocery shop (Albert Kleijntje) with limited opening hours. Restaurant Zeeuwse Oase lies about 1.5 km from the harbour, offering food, lunch, high tea and drinks.
