About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Kalvø Havn lies on the small island of Kalvø, at the innermost end of Genner Bugt north of Aabenraa Fjord, in the middle of a bird reserve. The marina can be entered day and night in clear and visible weather; just before the harbour there is a red port-hand marker with signs showing a 3-knot speed limit and a wildlife reserve, and fixed fishing nets and gear occur in the area. Genner Bugt and the harbour are not lit by beacons, but there is lighting in the marina itself. Harbour dues start from 175 DKK per night for boats up to 8.9 metres (incl. electricity surcharge), rising to 200 DKK for 9–11.99 metres, 230 DKK for 12–14.99 metres, and 300 DKK for boats over 15 metres, with 575 DKK for schooners; using the mast crane costs 50 DKK. Electricity and water are available at the berths. Ashore you'll find a barbecue area, a guest lounge to relax in, and facilities to wash and dry clothes, and waste must be sorted at the harbour's recycling station. At Kalvø Badehotel you can order morning bread and choose from a lunch and dinner menu. The island also offers a nature trail all the way around with benches, tables and a large stone collection, the old wooden shipyard whose buildings are still used as homes, and with luck you may spot the Viking ship based at Kalvø. About 1 km from the harbour, at Sønderballevej, a bus runs on to Aabenraa or Haderslev.
