About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Kragerø guest marina comprises two municipal guest harbours right in the centre of Kragerø, at Barthebrygga/Gunnarsholmen and at Jernbanekaia. The marina is run by Kragerø Havnevesen and lies centrally, within short walking distance of the town's activity.
You enter from the south, and it's worth noting that the bridge inside the sound has a maximum clearance of only 2.5 metres. There is a lot of swimming activity on both sides of the sound, so keep a lookout. Mooring is alongside on the innermost part towards the quay and along the northernmost floating dock, with outriggers between every other berth – expect some wind and drift. No berths can be reserved in advance, though most boaters find a spot with a little patience; vessels over 70 feet must contact the harbour authority. The harbour fee is paid at a machine or via the Marina Booking app, and payment gives access to electricity and water.
At Gunnarsholmen there are shower and toilet facilities reserved for guest boaters, plus washing machines and tumble dryers. At Jernbanekaia there is a public toilet and shower near Blindtarmen. Water and shore power are included in the harbour fee, and waste containers are located near the payment machines. Note that pumping out a boat's holding tank is strictly forbidden within the guest harbour itself – instead, a barge with a manual pump-out is available near the ferry berth at Stabbestad. The area also offers chandlery, a mast crane, a slipway and fuel.
