About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Linköpings segelbåtshamn is a marina on the Stångån river/Kinda Canal with a connection to Lake Roxen, located just north of the motorway bridge over Stångån and only a few kilometres from Linköping city centre. The harbour was dug out of a clay field in 1973 and is owned by Linköping Municipality, while it is run by Linköpings Båtklubbars Hamnförening (LBH), made up of Linköpings Segelsällskap, Segelsällskapet Roxen and Linköpings Motorbåtsklubb.
If you're arriving via the Göta Canal, note that the motorway bridge over Stångån has a clearance of only 3 metres at the highest water level. The chart for the Göta Canal/Roxen shows the approach correctly, though shoals are occasionally encountered. The harbour also serves as a guest harbour, but according to the local sailing club the service level is low, and there isn't even an information sign for visitors. Even so, sailors from Denmark, Norway, Finland, the Netherlands, France and Germany regularly call in here – Linköping is the only major city along the Göta Canal. The harbour once had around 300 berths, but today about 100 sailboats are moored here.
For summer sailors there is a mast crane in Linköpings segelbåtshamn, used for stepping and unstepping masts during the season.
Along the river a walking and cycling path has made the harbour area popular with local joggers, dog owners and families out for a picnic.
