About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Lohals Harbour lies on the west side of northern Langeland, about 6 km from the island's northern tip, with views across the Funen archipelago and the Great Belt. The marina is a classic Danish harbour with roots in an old ship's pier from 1863, and it was expanded southwards in 1980 with a dedicated marina section. The harbour has been designated a town with special maritime heritage within the UNESCO Global Geopark Det Sydfynske Øhav.
The newly renovated service building, Banjen, houses toilet and shower facilities, a sailors' kitchen, storage rooms, and a sailors' lounge with TV, air hockey, and table football. Electricity and water are available on all piers, and wifi is free throughout the harbour. For children there is a maritime playground and a small saltwater pool just 20 cm deep, while a barbecue area with benches and tables invites cosy evenings by the water. Free bicycles, plus electric bikes for a fee, make it easy to explore northern Langeland.
North of the harbour is a Blue Flag beach with bathing jetties, and on the southern breakwater there is a sea bath and a floating bathing island with a slide. The dog forest to the south and the troll forest to the north are both worth a visit, and the Archipelago Trail hiking route starts right at the harbour. Within walking distance you'll find an ice cream kiosk and several dining spots, and the Brugsen grocery store is about 1.2 km from the harbour.
