About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 27 September 2026Marina di Policoro lies in the centre of the Gulf of Taranto on the Ionian Sea coast, on the fertile Metaponto plain. The modern marina offers 322 berths for boats up to 40 metres, and the basin is designed to keep wave surge to a minimum. It's about an hour's drive to the airports of Bari and Brindisi, and a few hours to Potenza and Matera.
Depth inside the marina is 3.5 metres. The marina monitors VHF channel 74 around the clock, with mooring assistance available 24 hours a day. The entrance is marked by lights: a red flashing light on the south mole head, a green one on the north mole head, and paired fixed lights on the breakwaters, with a sandy seabed.
The marina has a fuel berth with a fuel pump, shore power at 220-380 volts up to 125 A, water on the pontoons, toilets, free wifi and 27 shore-based lockers for storing gear and sails. Waste is sorted for recycling, and there is diving assistance plus a boatyard that works on all types of vessels. Just outside the marina you'll find a bar, restaurant, minimarket and a chandlery, and bicycles, scooters and cars are available for hire.
Policoro is a seaside resort with beautiful beaches, crystal-clear water and a seafront promenade with good restaurants, as well as the Bosco Pantano nature area nearby. Tie up at one of the marina's many pontoons and stroll into town to explore the promenade and its restaurants.
