Marina Makkum

Marina Makkum is linked to Camping de Holle Poarte, situated directly on the IJsselmeer beach near Makkum in Friesland, with two large sandy beaches and a boulevard with cafés and shops within 250 metres.

For smaller boats there is a free, simple sand slipway where you can launch your boat straight into the IJsselmeer. At the campsite exit there is a camper service point where you can discharge waste water and refill fresh water, and empty toilet cassettes outside the sanitary building.

On site you'll find a sanitary building with toilets and showers of a high standard, a laundry with coin-operated machines from reception, free wifi at reception and the communal lounge, bike rental (including e-bikes) at reception, a playground/pyramid for children, and a grocery shop on the central square with fresh bread from 8am. There are also no fewer than six restaurants on and around the site for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Walk the 250 metres down to the beach, or explore Makkum's old streets with timber-framed houses, terraces overlooking the boats, and local specialities such as artisan ice cream and cheese. Launch your boat at the small sand ramp, then stroll down to the beach or into Makkum for an ice cream and a wander through the old lanes.
