About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Marina Port du Sud is New Caledonia's only privately owned marina, beautifully situated in Baie de l'Orphelinat close to central Nouméa. Operating since 2005, the marina offers around 250 berths afloat plus nearly 80 dry-storage spaces, and can welcome vessels up to 60 metres at dedicated berths.
The marina is a designated port of entry, handling customs, immigration and biosecurity clearance on site, and monitors VHF channel 67 on approach. Visiting yachts may stay up to one month (except during cyclone alerts), and the harbour office assists with berth allocation and formalities.
At the pontoons you'll find shore power (16A/32A/63A, 220V) and fresh water at each berth, along with showers, a laundry with washing machines and dryers, a fuel station with diesel and unleaded petrol on the main pontoon, marina-wide Wi-Fi, waste sorting with oil and battery collection, and secure, badge-access parking under 24/7 surveillance.
Restaurants, banks, small chandleries and shops are all within walking distance, making it easy to reprovision and enjoy a sunset on a terrace. Nearby activities include the restaurant L'Essentiel as well as kite and diving schools. Berth in Baie de l'Orphelinat, hail on VHF 67, and enjoy easy access to Nouméa's UNESCO-listed lagoon.
