About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Lovund Rorbu Hotell is a guest harbour on the island of Lovund in Lurøy municipality on the Helgeland coast in Nordland. Lovund is an active local community with around 530 inhabitants, shaped by salmon farming, a slaughterhouse and other industry.
The approach passes Novasea's facility along a well-marked route before you turn in towards the piers; the chart marks a 1-metre shoal in the middle of the fairway, but several visiting sailors have not been able to find it, and there is good depth all the way in to the piers. The harbour offers good protection from the sea and is well shielded from wash caused by express boats and ferries, though strong and unpredictable gusts can occur in gale conditions.
The piers are new concrete piers with shore power and fresh water. It's a short walk to a pub, a pizza restaurant (closed on Mondays/Tuesdays even in peak season), a café and the hotel, which has a highly regarded restaurant and bar. You'll also find a well-stocked Joker grocery store, and diesel and petrol are available at the pump in the industrial harbour.
Just 100 metres from the guest harbour is a well-appointed outdoor swimming facility with an amphitheatre - ideal for families with children. A nature trail leads up to Lundeura (about 2 km), and the island has marked hiking trails, including one to the mountain peak (625 m), as well as a beach at Vassvika.
