About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 28 September 2026Marine Watersport Vereniging (MWV) runs a club marina at Het Nieuwe Diep in Den Helder, the Netherlands. The marina is used mainly by the club's permanent berth holders, but visiting sailors are warmly welcomed.
The harbourmaster's office is on the upper floor of the club ship "Albatros", the large barge lying across the quay, where you'll also find the cosy bar, open afternoons and evenings during the sailing season. Pump-out of holding tanks can be arranged with the harbourmaster's assistance by appointment.
On the ground floor of the "Albatros" you'll find showers and toilets, plus a washing machine and dryer. On the quay there is a waste station with containers for household waste, paper and glass, as well as storage for chemical waste such as oil and batteries. All berths have electricity and water, and free wifi is available.
The marina is within walking distance (15-20 minutes) of Den Helder's town centre and railway station, as well as museums such as the Marinemuseum and Reddingmuseum. The ferry to Texel is easily reached, right opposite the Marinemuseum. Berth at MWV and enjoy the friendly, informal atmosphere of a harbour steeped in history, with Texel just a short ferry ride away.
