About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026

MSC Coburg is a German motor and sailing boat club with an idyllic marina basin on the river Main, located between the Bamberg lock (Main-Danube Canal km 7.42) and the Viereth lock (Main km 380.699), just past the latter on the starboard side. The marina lies right outside the gates of the city of Bamberg.

Visiting boaters with vessels up to 12 metres long and 4 metres wide are warmly welcome at the club's guest berths. The approach from the water runs alongside the DLRG station in a 10-metre-wide corridor, and speed within the harbour bay is limited to 5 km/h to avoid wash. Guest berths cost from €10 per day for boats up to 5 metres, rising to €25 for boats between 10.01 and 12 metres, with the price including electricity and water (non-potable). Stays longer than 8 days require approval from the harbourmaster or club chairman. Using the slipway (in and out) costs €30 for both operations.

The marina offers toilet facilities and shore power at the berths on request. Waste must be sorted and disposed of in the designated containers by the boat hall, and there is a playground on the club grounds.

Restaurants and grocery shops are within walking distance of the club grounds, and you can even buy fresh bread rolls on Sundays. You can cycle to Bamberg along the Regnitz river through beautiful natural and riverside landscape in about half an hour, or take the bus from a stop roughly 100 metres away.
