About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Örskär is a small island at the outer edge of the northern Roslagen archipelago, north of Gräsö, known for its distinctive lighthouse station and unspoiled nature. There is no formal marina, but visiting boats can moor at a jetty on the island's south side.
On the south side of the island there is a jetty with guest berths at two buoys at the outer end. The buoys require long lines, and the spot is exposed to wind and unprotected from waves. The remaining berths along the jetty are reserved for staff and overnight guests at the lighthouse station.
A guest toilet is available at the lighthouse station, open May to September, and a guest shower can be booked for a fee via reception (not available between 11am-3pm) - alternatively you can bathe for free from the rocks. Fresh water from a desalination plant can be collected for a small fee near the restaurant, though the plant is not always guaranteed to be running. Note that there is no public waste bin - visitors must take their rubbish with them off the island. The restaurant offers lunch and dinner, and there is also a kiosk.
The lighthouse is open for viewing Tuesday to Sunday, 1pm-1.45pm (closed Mondays) for an entrance fee. Most of the island is a nature reserve with rich birdlife and orchids in early summer, and camping is permitted on the beach meadows in the southwestern part of the island - though not close to the lighthouse station itself.
