About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026Oude Buitenhaven in the historic town of Kampen is run by the sailing club WSV De Buitenhaven, which also manages the nearby Nieuwe Buitenhaven with 120 members. Both harbours are within walking distance of Kampen's town centre.
As a visiting sailor you don't need to book ahead – there is (almost) always room, and you can pay easily via the AanUit.net app. During events and club gatherings, guests may instead be directed to a free berth in Nieuwe Buitenhaven.
All berths have shore power and drinking water. The harbour has a boat lift and wash-down area (up to 20 tonnes lifting capacity, booked through the crane committee), plus a pump-out station for waste water and a disposal point for chemical toilets. Waste is sorted into containers for glass and residual waste. The clubhouse contains toilets and shower rooms for men and women plus a disabled toilet with seated shower and alarm, as well as a laundry room with a professional washing machine and dryer and an ironing board. Upstairs is a clubhouse café with terraces on both sides, where members and guests can enjoy coffee, tea or a drink while overlooking the harbours.
The historic ships Kamper Kogge, Kamper Botters and the rowing boat Stad Kampen are based at Koggewerf between the two harbours, and Kampen's historic town centre is within walking distance. Come and moor at Oude Buitenhaven and stroll into town – there's (almost) always a spot waiting for you.
