Passantenhaven De Uutwiek (Turfroute)

Guest harbour De Uutwiek is a cosy marina in Oldeberkoop, an old village in south-east Friesland, located on the well-known Turfroute waterway through Drenthe, Friesland and Overijssel. The harbour basin has room for about 20 guest boats, and all berths have lighting and shore power. Boats with a clearance height up to 1.80 metres, such as open motorboats, can instead moor at the berths along Heerenveenseweg south of the bridge over the Prinsenwijk – lighting is available there, but no shore power. Note that, despite what some websites claim, the harbour does not have a slipway.

The tidy sanitary building offers two spacious bathrooms each with two washbasins and a shower, three toilets, a pump-out point for chemical toilets, two worktops with sinks, a washing machine and a dryer – all with hot and cold water. The harbour grounds also have a facility for pumping out wastewater and bilge water, a fresh water tap, picnic tables and waste containers. Twelve white bicycles are available free of charge for visiting boaters, for example for a bike ride or to fetch groceries in the village.

Oldeberkoop is a lovely village with monumental buildings and fine park woods, and there are enough shops for daily groceries. In the surrounding park woods and nature areas you can enjoy beautiful walks, and there are good cycling opportunities nearby, including to neighbouring villages with their own attractions.
