About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Södersundets Småbåtshamn & Gästhamn is a small guest harbour in the Södersundet bay, inside the Riddersholm nature reserve on Rådmansö, close to Kapellskär in Norrtälje municipality on the Åland Sea. The harbour has 30 guest berths on the outer part of jetty 1, while the remaining berths are let out on a seasonal basis.
The harbour lies well sheltered in the bay about 1 nautical mile south of the Kapellskär lighthouse, and the approach runs through a dredged channel with a depth of around 1.7 metres at low water. The harbour is open from 1 April to 15 November, and a guest berth costs around 100 SEK per night, with an extra charge for shore power.
On the jetty you'll find a toilet, and in summer a small ice-cream kiosk/café operates at the harbour. Shore power is available for an extra fee, along with a launching ramp for smaller boats.
From the harbour it's a short walk into the Riddersholm nature reserve, where almost 20 kilometres of marked trails lead through birch hills, hazel groves and coastal meadows past several swimming spots. Along the beach you'll also find a café and a kiosk, and close by are Kapellskär's campsite and hostel as well as the old Riddersholm manor. Södersundet is home to one of the archipelago's largest colonies of great crested grebes, and in spring cowslips and wood anemones bloom in abundance. Berth at Södersundet and spend the afternoon hiking through the reserve's varied nature.
