About the harbour
Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedvia web search · 29 September 2026Rødtangen Båtforening runs a member-owned small-boat harbour in the southern part of Rødtangbukten on the Hurumlandet peninsula (formerly Hurum, now Asker municipality). The association was founded in 1965, and following an agreement with the former Hurum Municipality in 1976 it has held usage rights to the area. The facility was renewed in 2011 with a new floating dock system providing space for 190 boats ranging from 10 to 47 feet, and in addition there are 20 rental berths on the old pier in the northern part of the bay for boats of 10-18 feet. Today the association has around 210 members, with permanent residents and cabin owners in the Rødtangen area given priority for membership.
At the harbour there is a launching ramp south of the old steamship quay, established as part of the 1976 agreement and still used for launching and hauling out boats.
There is a small swimming spot by the boat harbour at Rødtangen brygge, so a dip in the sea is within short walking distance of the facility.
