About the harbour

Automatically summarised text: Automatically summarisedfrom the harbour's website · 28 September 2026

Sixhaven lies in the heart of Amsterdam, opposite Centraal Station along the standing-mast route. The marina is run by Watersport Vereniging Dok en Scheepsbouw and sits secured behind a fence with a coded gate for pedestrians/cyclists, plus CCTV coverage.

Booking ahead isn't possible – calling five minutes before arrival works best, so a berth can be arranged directly. Harbour dues are paid via a QR code on the pontoon by your berth, due on the day of arrival, after which you receive a receipt by email containing the gate access code. The price includes shore power, water, showers and wifi.

On the pontoons you'll find shore power connections (6 amps/1300 watts) and drinking-water hoses on grey reels, plus safety posts with fire extinguishers and life rings on the main pontoon. A separate shower and toilet block offers washing-up facilities, two coin-free washing machines and dryers (operated via the Miele app), and an iron and ironing board are available. Waste is sorted at a station on the car park next to Dokhuis, with glass banks, a compactor for household waste and a paper container; chemical waste is accepted only with the harbourmaster's permission. Wifi is free and needs no password. Bike racks stand beside Dokhuis, and the welcoming Dokhuis clubhouse has an often sunny terrace overlooking the IJ, serving drinks and simple snacks – open from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon during the sailing season. Next to it is a safe playground for young children.
